Dog Behavior Problems

Many dogs have behavior problems in our society today. It is unfortunate and is seen mostly in rescue dogs. Dogs adopted from shelters or breed rescues usually have pasts that were less than ideal, and could even have been abusive. Cowering, hiding food, and not coming when called are some of the main issues seen in abused dogs.

Clicker training dogs with behavioral problems is an amazing way to turn them around and help them trust people again. There are many ways to click your dog to success and comfort once again. When you use clicks and treats, you are giving your dog a way to control his own environment and have a say in his own life. And we all love to know we have some sort of control of our lives. A broken spirit makes for a very sad and afraid dog.

Some breeds of dogs don’t really have abusive or negative histories, they just can tend to be stubborn.  Some of these breeds are terriers, hounds, pit bulls, and other such breeds. However, clicker training can break through the barriers of training.

Some breeds take longer to learn than others. It may take a coon hound twenty repetitions to learn a cue, when it can take a border collie or a poodle only two or three. You just have to know your breed, and your individual dog, and adjust your training accordingly.

All dogs can learn, and all dogs love to learn! To find details about how your dog learns and your dogs behavioral problems, it’s helpful to see the information in DVD format so you can read the dogs as well. Dog body language is much more subtle to us than human body language. But it can be learned, and learned well!
